Employment Process

Welcome To The La Feria I.S.D. Application Process

Thank you for your interest in the La Feria Independent School District. For professional positions, only a completed online application will be accepted and considered for employment.
The online application is located at the bottom of page.  Para- Professionals may download an application from our website or you may pick one up at The Central Administration Office
 located on 203 E. Oleander, La Feria, Tx 78559. Please submit the following:
 

1. APPLICATION � All information must be completed before submitting your application. Please note, Section 22.083 of the TEXAS EDUCATION CODE (TEC) requires all school districts to complete a Criminal History Check on all applicants.

 

2. RESUME - Submit an up to date resume.

 

3. TRANSCRIPT (if Applicable) - Submit a copy of an up to date college transcript.  A sealed official transcript will be required upon employment.

 

4. CERTIFICATION - Submit a copy of your certification (if applying for a Teacher* position):

 

                    a. Texas Teacher Certificate; or

                    b. Out of state certificate; or

                    c. Letter of Completion (from university indicating that applicant has 

                         applied for certification); or

                    d. Eligibility letter (from alternative certification program)

 

5. Copy of Social Security Card and Driver�s License

6. Copy of fingerprinting receipt if applicant has already been fingerprinted.

 

 
Professional applicants must upload all of these documents (1 � 6) when applying online for  vacancies. Para- Professionals must have documents (1-6) on file at the Human Resources office for an application to be considered active and eligible for employment.  Letters of Intrest will only be accepted with a current application on file.
 
Para-Professionals may submit applications via postal service to La Feria ISD, Attn:  Office of Human Resources, P. O. Box 1159, La Feria, Texas 78559, or delivered to the Office of Human Resources located at 203 E. Oleander, La Feria, Texas.

Interview Process

In order to make the interviewing process as streamlined as possible, please do not contact principals directly by telephoning or "just stopping by" his/her office. Principals will contact you directly for campus interviews. Due to the high volume of applications, La Feria I.S.D. cannot interview all applicants

Current Employees applying for Professional Vacancies:

When applying for a vacancy, interested individuals currently employed by the La Feria ISD must submit a letter of interest along with an updated resume to the Central Administration Office, 203 E. Oleander Avenue, La Feria, Texas 78559.

Timelines

La Feria ISD accepts applications twelve months a year. Applications are processed throughout the year, and hiring takes place throughout the year.

SB9-Fingerprinting

As of January 1, 2008, all applicants recommended for employment will be subject to the requirements of Senate Bill 9. This bill is a comprehensive statute requiring various levels of criminal history review for different types of public employees, including:
  • All certified educators working in public schools who have not been previously fingerprinted.
  • All non-certified public school employees.
  • All subsitute teachers.
  • School Contractor employees who have direct contact with students.
  • Student teachers and volunteers, with certain exceptions.
As of January 1, 2008, all non-certified employees will be subject to a national criminal history record check and will be required to be fingerprinted through the Department of Public Safety.
